Klaus Moelmer is an internationally widely known theorist in the field of quantum optics with significant impact on quantum physicists. He has made seminal contributions with respect to the role of measurements in simulating and controlling quantum systems, for example the Monte Carlo wavefunction method and the so called Moelmer-Sorensen gate for creating entanglement, an essential resource of quantum computers. During his stay in Germany, he plans to study conditional measurement dynamics for control in quantum sensing, quantum computing, quantum error correction, and more applications.

Prof. Moelmer is hosted by Proff. Sebastian Hofferberth and Dieter Meschede at the Institut für Angewandte Physik of the University of Bonn.
